EMBO (European Molecular Biology Organization), HeidelbergThe European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) was set up in 1964 with the aim of promoting biosciences in Europe. Subsidiary to that general aim were concepts such as the development of a strong trans-national approach to molecular biology, the identification of measures that can assist in the training of scientists in this area and the emphasis on scientific criteria for all of its activities.
Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP)The HFSP supports novel, innovative and interdisciplinary basic research focused on the complex mechanisms of living organisms; topics range from molecular and cellular approaches, to systems and cognitive neuroscience.
