UAS biotechnical engineerBiotechnical engineers have an all-round knowledge of the basics of science and of technology and process engineering. Their task is to apply the knowledge of science and/or successful laboratory experiments to industry with regard to business (management) and the market economy.
UAS chemistUAS chemists find jobs in the practical areas of chemistry, mostly in production, development, analysis, quality assurance, sales/marketing, ecology and research but also in engineering, safety applications, etc.
UAS food technology engineerUAS-trained food technology engineers work both in the food industry and in food distribution in Switzerland and abroad where they have leading roles in food production, the planning of food manufacturing plants and processes, the assessment of foods and consumer attitudes. In their research results they look at the ecological aspects and the long-term impact of the product.
Apprenticeships
Biology laboratory assistantBiology laboratory assistants carry out the practical experimental work set up by scientists. They obtain, grow and tend the cell cultures and living organisms used in these experiments. They work on biological organisms in research, development, production, control and diagnostics laboratories.
Chemistry laboratory assistantChemistry laboratory assistants are responsible for carrying out scientific experiments. They manufacture chemical substances (synthesis research) or examine them (analytical research).
Medical laboratory technicianMedical laboratory technicians work in hospitals, private laboratories or medical research institutes. Medical laboratories test blood cells, bodily fluids, waste matter, tissue samples and pathogenic agents.
